We accept donations of gently-used tack and horse equipment!

For the most part, we are happy to accept donations of used horse tack and equipment. Some of it we can put right to use, other items we can sell to raise money for our program. Either way, you get a donation receipt! Please contact rider@therapeuticridinginc.org or give us a call prior to dropping off used equipment.

We Can Accept:

  • Quality dressage saddles, in good condition

  • Quality all purpose saddles, in good condition

  • Black snaffle bridles

  • Black reins

  • Black stirrup leathers

  • Snaffle bits, free of rust or significant chew marks

  • Clean, lightly used dressage-cut saddle pads

  • Adaptive tack such as hand-holds, neck straps, stirrup cages, rein loops, or bareback pads.

  • Safety stirrups

  • Lead ropes

  • Horse-sized halters in safe, usable condition, preferably without a throat snap

  • Cotton roll bandages

  • 78”-82” medium to heavy weight blankets—waterproof and in usable condition.

  • Trail, gaming, or arena equipment  such as cones, poles, gates, bridges or barrels

  • Clean grooming tools, in usable condition

We unfortunately Cannot Accept:

While we appreciate every donation we receive, there are some items we simply cannot accept due to safety considerations.

  • Western saddles—we do not typically use western saddles in our program.

  • Moldy, cracked, or very dry leather goods.

  • Frayed halters or lead ropes

  • Traditional fillis stirrup irons—safety stirrups are required for all of our riders.

  • Mismatched or single stirrup leathers

  • Curb bits or leverage bits—many of our riders are learning to have steady hands, and we do not use curb bits or leverage bits on our horses.

  • Heavily soiled saddle pads & grooming equipment—to protect the health of our herd.
